++Stray dog cannot eliminate from Chiang Mai++

There are a lot of stray dogs in Chiang Mai, more than 10,000 stray dogs around the city. What happened with poor dogs? Why they throw their own dog away like the garbage that they don’t want to keep it. Dogs have their feeling, the feeling of fear, lonely, gloomy. If you are put in this situation how you do feel?

I always depressed when I see poor dogs, it lives without home, food and love from people who should be called the owner. They vagrant, move a lot from place to place, without hope in their life. They have to find some food from a mountain of garbage, but it is a little filling into their stomach. At night with the feeling of coldness, they have to lie down on the ground without warming. I cannot explain this feeling into word when I look into gloomy eyes. If I am abandoned, I cannot imagine how do I feel? I feel sorry with them because these dogs have the suffering from people who leave them alone.

People have wrong value. They feel that a puppy is so cute, so they buy them for their pleasantness. And the little puppy grow up, they eat more than they were young. They are not cute anymore. The consequence is deserting. When dogs are deserted, their population is growing up. There is no breed control in stray dogs; many little dogs become street dogs.

The problem causes by strays dog is rabies, a fetal disease which can be transmitted to humans. Stray dogs live without good looking after, so they are no chance to vaccinate the disease preventing.

Local Government should pay more attention to this problem. They should have stray dogs control planning. For instance, controlling a dog population by sterilization, to makes it impossible for them to have or produce babies. The number of stray dogs should be stable, not increase extremely.

Another suggestion is arresting stray dogs to live together in animal shelter. It will be better instead of wandering place to place. But they have to take care of them seriously. Another problem of animal shelter is money. Money is so important for feeding a lot of stray dogs. Is there anybody who has determining to solve strays dog problem? I think nobody because it wastes their time and money. So you still see dogs wander around Chiang Mai and the government cannot eliminate them. I hope someday these dogs will have a home and won't be abandoned at all.

Dog is not only a pet but also the best friend of human.I do not know how can people abandon such a lovely pet.I agree with you that dog have feeling, strong feeling of honesty to their owner. Some dog owners who feed dogs as a fashion may not feel this feeling so their cute dogs become stray dogs when the fashion is change. These abandoned dogs cause problems like you said and they are unwanted in the society.What a pity.

Some of the stray dogs are unlucky. They die because of car bumping. Some of them get a chance for their new life. Some kind people rescue them from the street and keep them as their pet or take them to the animal shelter.

I think the luckiest stray dog in Thailand is Khun Thongdaeng, the street dog that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej keep as a pet and it stay with the King in the palace.The other lucky street dogs
are selected to be in the training
for drug and bomb-sniffing duties in the Royal Thai Police Dog Training Project which occured from the King's sugesstion

There are still more stray dogs on streets. I hope they will be safe and fine. I hope that people will not desert his pets and let them be the social problem anymore. I also hope the government will find the best way to handle with the problem.

Personally, I very love dogs. I love them because of they're cute honest and tame. I think people who aren't ready to feed them should not even think to have any pet. For me, I really need a dog but I can't since I live in an apartment that they don't allow tenants to feed pet. I also have a very bad feeling when I see stray dogs. It's true as Prapaporn said that they may be died by a car accident and nobody care. I had an experience about stray animal, it was cat in my case. Although I braked my motorbike, it bumped into a little black cat. She writhe left and right for a while till she died. I was so sorry and felt bad for a week. Then I made merit to her as a salvation on the way of Buddhist. 0x0;

I totally agree with the idea that if you are not ready to have the dog, do not even think about owning them.
I know one neighbor that treat the dog like a prison. When the dog was the puppy, they love him very much because he is so adorable, but once the dog became older they kind of ignore the dog and finally dump him on the street.
I always feed the stray dogs whenever I see them. I wish I could take every single dog I saw on the street but it's impossible.
I saw a lot of stray dog that died or injured on the street from accident when they try to cross the street.
What make human think they have right to do that to the animal.
